From the 2019, NEET will be organized by NTA. Ministry of Human Resource Development announced that now the National Tasting Agency (NTA) will organize JEE Main I, JEE Main II, NEET (UG), UGC (NET), CMAT and GPAT exams. So far these examinations were conducted by the CBSE. Now the JEE Mains exam will be twice in a year. While NEET has been decided to organize only one year in a year. The registration for NEET 2019 has started and will be end till November 30.

The government on Tuesday announced the dates for admission to the admissions to top medical and engineering colleges in the country. Ministry of Human Resource Development announced that now the National Tasting Agency (NTA) will organize JEE Main I, JEE Main II, NEET (UG), UGC (NET), CMAT and GPAT exams. So far these examinations were conducted by the CBSE. Now the JEE Mains exam will be twice in a year. While NEET has been decided to organize only one year in a year. Registration for JEE Main-I from 1st September to 30th September 2018.

"The change in the NEET exam pattern as against the statement earlier, which will now be a single exam in pen-and-paper mode and in the same number of languages as has been conducted last year, is on the request of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, which wanted the same pattern followed last year to be maintained," news agency PTI quoted an official as saying.

The Online application process will start from 1st November 2018 and The last date to apply is 30th November 2018

Eligibility of Open School Students for NEET UG 2019

Students who have cleared their qualifying examination form Open School or as private candidates and students who have studied Biology/Biotechnology as the additional subject are also eligible to apply but their candidature will be subject to the outcome of the Special Leave Petitions/Appeals filed by the Medical Council of India. 

NEET Eligibility Criteria 2019 – Number of Attempts

The number of attempts was removed in NEET 2018 and is also not applicable for NEET 2019 as well. Candidates can appear for the NEET 2019 Exam as many times as they fulfill the Other mentioned criteria. 

NEET Eligibility Criteria 2019 - 15% All India Quota seats/Deemed Universities/Central Universities/ESIC and AFMC Colleges

  • Candidates who qualify NEET 2019 will be considered eligible for 15% All India Quota seats.
  • Students from State of J & K are not eligible for 15% All India Quota seats as the State of J&K has opted out of All India Scheme since its inception. If they claim eligibility, they must submit online Self The declaration which will be generated and printed automatically along with confirmation page for the record and to present the same during counseling. TheSelf-Declaration Form is given in AppendixNEET

Eligibility Criteria 2019 - 85% State Quota seats

The 85% state quota seats include the 85% seats of the government colleges of the states/union territories. The counseling for such seats will be conducted by the authorities concerned. Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down by each authority of the state/union territory in order to be eligible for state quota seats,

The admission in private colleges will also be subject to the policies of the State/ Union Territory.

NEET Result

NEET 2019 result will be announced in the 1st week of June 2019. The NEET Cut Off will be published along with the result.  Eligible candidates will be invited to the counseling process. NEET counseling can be started in the second week of June 2019

Question: I have a gap year between Class 11th and 12th. Will I be eligible for NEET 2019?
Yes, Candidate with the gap year between class 11th and 12th will be eligible for NEET 2019. Earlier, MCI had made amendments to the “Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, 1997” in which it was stated that a student must undergo continuous two years of study to become eligible to take NEET. However, this amendment was removed by the Delhi High Court and Now candidates with gap year between Class 11th and 12th can appear for NEET 2019. The latest information brochure of NEET also specifies the same.

Question: I will complete 25 years of age in March 2019. Will I be eligible for NEET?
Yes, candidates will be eligible to appear for the NEET exam who are 25 years or above will now be able to take the exam as the Supreme Court has directive.

Question: In Class 11 and 12, I had Biology as an additional subject. Does that make me ineligible for NEET 2019? 
Earlier this clause was introduced by MCI for NEET 2018  that candidates with biology as additional subject will not attempt the NEET Exam but It was overruled by the Delhi High Court which means that the students with Biology/Biotechnology as an additional subject in Class 11 and 12 are eligible for NEET 2019.
